钱辉环教授2004年在中国科技大学获得工学学士。他于同年加入香港中文大学自动化与计算机辅助工程学学系,担任科研助理。2010年获得自动化与计算机辅助工程学哲学博士学位。此后在机械与自动化工程学系,历任副研究员、研究助理教授。2015年加入香港中文大学(深圳),兼任深圳市人工智能与机器人研究院副院长、机器人与智能制造国地联合工程实验室副主任。

钱教授发表了2部专著、1部编著、140篇国际期刊以及国际会议论文,并取得逾35项授权的专利。他主持完成了1项国家自然科学基金重点类项目、2项香港特区政府资助的项目,并作为项目第二负责人或核心成员完成了超过10项在香港和内地的项目。由于其在全方位汽车转向界面方面的工作,钱教授和他的科研团队获得IEEE/ASME 机电一体化学报2011年度最佳论文奖。他近期指导研究生和本科生在国际会议上多次获奖,包括IROS2020最佳应用论文提名奖、ROBIO2019最佳论文提名奖、RCAR2019最佳论文提名奖、WCICA2018最佳学生论文提名奖。他曾担任中国工程院院刊FITEE的机器人特刊副主编、RSS领域主席,现担任机器人顶会ICRA和IROS的副编辑。他是IEEE机器人与自动化学会广州分会副主席、深圳全球海洋中心城市建设促进会专家。

他的研究方向包括机器人与智能系统,近期专注于海洋机器人的研究。
