Lazarian是国际知名的磁湍流专家，在湍动磁重联、宇宙线的传播特征、磁湍流数值模拟和应用方面取得大量成果。发表SCI论文300余篇，被引用近1万9千余次，引用H指数达75。1999年首先引入湍流磁重联的概念, Reconnection in a Weakly Stochastic Field被引用500余次。2003年对磁湍流中各种波模的分析Compressible magnetohydrodynamic turbulence：mode coupling, scaling relations, anisotropy, viscosity-damped regime and astrophysical implications被引用300余次。有关星际尘埃以及磁场对尘埃的影响的研究也得到广泛引用(>1000次)。关于宇宙线在磁湍流中传播特性的研究也被引用近千次。
