在文中，get the bug out of their system是一种比喻的说法，字面“清除人们系统的故障”，可以理解为“消除内心的烦恼”。

这个表达源自另一个idiom：kick the bucket 字面意思“踢桶”，实际意思“to die 去死”，因为以前人们上吊的时候，是踩着水桶的，踢掉桶就意味着要死翘翘了。

那么bucket list字面意思“水桶清单”，就是某人死前的“愿望清单”，直接理解为“人生愿望清单”即可。

5. tick off + 地点

到某地打卡（这是我目前发现的和中文“打卡”最接近的词）

字面意思是：在…旁打勾

一般完整表达是tick off ... on your bucket list

【解释】

If you tick off items on a list, you write a tick or other mark next to them, in order to show that they have been dealt with.
