The Samsung Galaxy S22 (Snapdragon) came with a smaller battery than its predecessor (3700 mAh vs 4000 mAh), and it definitely had an impact on the device’s autonomy. In moderate use, the S22 (Snapdragon) registered less than 2 days of autonomy and showed weak performance on our calibrated and on-the-go tests. The device struggled when it came to charging, limited by its 25W charger. Would the smaller battery at least show better efficiency? Our tests showed that it did not, because discharge currents were quite high overall.

In general, the Samsung Galaxy S22 (Snapdragon) battery posted scores that were below average, when compared with all the phones in our database and when compared with its peers in the premium segment. Although the device achieved a lower score than last year’s model, the Snapdragon version edged out the Exynos version, benefitting from  Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.
