I got a couple as gifts that I flipped and used the money for the digital versions. I don't want to get off my couch to change a disk, and you think I'm going shopping on Black Friday? I pay a premium for digital because it is worth it to me. Also, the sooner physical disks are killed off, like on PC, the sooner digital prices will drop. Physical disks are inventory that has to move, or is just lost $$$. Time is money, so price drops happen to move inventory before retailers get stuck. Digital is virtual inventory, which makes it easier for publishers to wait. But once the secondary market and the physical disks it requires are vanquished, you will more Steam like prices, as it will be more important to keep revenue flowing, and digital sales won't leave inventory on shelves. Went to the mall with my wife last night, and she said something about going into GameStop. I literally had no reason to walk in. It just offers almost nothing to me. But I have never found a deal on a video game that I didn't get. I think the last deal I got snookered on was Madden 12 for PS3 for my nephew. Walmart advertised it for $19 if memory serves. So I go there that morning and they are sold out (I got there about 9am or something) but they had a ton of Xbox 360 Madden 12. So I bought him that one, knowing I would try to exchange it for the PS3. I kept my receipt and didn't open it. I took it back a few days later and sure enough they had the PS3 Madden back in stock. I go to the car, get the game, come back in and the woman at the service desk says I cannot exchange it even though its unopened. I asked why and she said, well you can but its $59.99 and the game you bought was $19.99. I said, well technically that's correct but it's the same game, different systems and you were out of the one on the PS3 on Black Friday. Anyways, she gets all snooty and mad so I ask for a manager who says to go ahead and do it. After that I said, ok, I'll still shop on Black Friday but it's going to be online and/or just "normal shopping" in regards to just not looking for one specific item at one specific price. So now if we do go out on Black Friday its just whenever we wake up and we go looking for just deals in general. For very SPECIFIC things I wake up early and order them online. It works out better for me doing it that way as I still find some bargains (got about half off a Dyson a couple of years ago at Best Buy on an online deal and picked it up there later) but I don't have to get all disappointed cuz "X or Y" was such a great deal and I didn't get up and stand in line for 6 hours starting at 4am, LOL Jay D likes this. __________________ "It's a hell of a thing, killing a man. You tried to game the system and take advantage of a store and got lucky with a manager that probably didn't want to deal with a pain in the butt customer in a busy time. So we eat, spend time with our family (don't know how much of our family we'll see but I don't wanna get into it on here) and then we'll head up to New Hampshire at like 5 or 6 pm. I don't think we've had to wait in any lines to get into a store just wait in line to check out. And the people at the BB we go to are actually knowledgeable so that works out as well. We went in Walmart or Target last year took a quick look around and left because the place was trashed and we went later on Black Friday like noon time so we figured we wouldn't find what we were looking for. __________________ Follow me on Twitter redsox4evur is offline   Reply With Quote Old 11-18-2016, 01:59 PM   #19944 JayhawkerStL Banned   OVR: 0 Join Date: Apr 2004 Posts: 3,657 Re: Xbox One Quote: Originally Posted by ubernoob Please stop spreading this like digital is the reason PC prices are lower.
