Gender transformative approaches to achieve gender equality and sexual and reproductive  health and rights is a technical note aimed at providing practical clarity and guidance on applying this approach to programmes and interventions related to gender equality, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

Gender transformative approaches seek to challenge gender inequality by transforming harmful gender norms, roles and relations, while working towards redistributing power, resources, and services more equally. UNFPA identifies gender transformative approaches as a key accelerator to achieving its Strategic Plan 2022-2025 outcomes.
