Kaizer Chiefs will be without fullback SIfiso Hlanti while AmaZulu will miss Ethan Brooks when the two teams clash on Friday evening in the DStv Premiership encounter.

Hlanti, who made a recovery from a career-ending injury, has been a key player for Amakhosi this season.

His consistent performances have earned him a regular spot in the left-back spot under coach Arthur Zwane.

So far this season, Hlanti has made 13 appearances in all competitions for the Soweto giants. He only missed five league matches.

The 32-year-old’s suspension came after he accumulated four yellow cards. He will be available for selection when Amakhosi take on Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, 21 January.

The 21-year-old will miss out when Usuthu host Kaizer Chiefs at home on Friday. The two sides will be meeting for the fourth time this season. The previous two fixtures were in the MTN8 semi-final and one in the DStv Premiership.

The talented midfielder was sent off on New Year’s Eve against Sekhukhune United after picking up his second yellow card.

Brooks has been key in AmaZulu’s midfield and attack. However, he is yet to score or assist this season.

The Bafana international has played 15 games in all competitions this season, that’s 12 in the league and three in the MTN8.

Khumalo is the third player ruled out of action this weekend due to suspension. The midfielder received his marching orders on New Year’s Eve after he was booked for a second yellow card against Kaizer Chiefs.

Therefore, he will miss a match against another Soweto giant, Orlando Pirates, on Saturday afternoon.

In the current season, the 23-year-old has made 11 appearances in all competitions for Abafana Bes’thende. He is yet to score or assist.
