If you love to laugh....
Hypocrite in a Pouffy White Dress is a hilarious tongue-in-cheek memoir of growing up with hippie parents; or as she puts it-”groovy and clueless.”
This is a far cry from the more serious genre I'm used to reading, but it had me laughing aloud as I read it.
The most memorable chapter for me, “Love and the Maharishi,” is hysterical. Her parents decide to enlist the entire family in Transcendental Meditation. As a nine year old, she reflects hilariously about those classes and the other kids who are subjected to the meditational environment. I laugh even as I recall it……
Her other chapters, “Nudie Hippie Kiddie Star and “White Like Me” give you an idea of what you're up against. I will not divulge any more; you will have to read it!
