ToggleBushnell Phantom vs Neo Ghost: Differences between Bushnell Phantom and Neo Ghost

Both the Bushnell Phantom and Bushnell Neo Ghost have the same display size and calculate distances to only 4 hazards per hole but neither has a scorecard or stat tracking. They will also calculate distances to the front, center and back of the green and come with shot distance measurement capabilities. The biggest differences between the Bushnell Phantom and Bushnell Neo Ghost are that only the Phantom has a magnet for attaching to a cart and Bluetooth capabilities for wireless course updates while the Neo Ghost is cheaper. Also the Bushnell Phantom has more accurate and faster distance measurements than the Neo Ghost.

Attaching the Neo Ghost to your golf cart will require the purchase of a golf cart holder. Also the Bushnell Phantom has Bluetooth capabilities for wireless course updates while the Neo Ghost only has updates via a USB cord and computer. The purchase of a Bushnell Phantom will also include the Bushnell Golf application that will give you close-up views of each hole with front/center/back and hazard distances and overhead views of each hole layout with front/center/back distances. Besides these differences, both Bushnell Phantom and Neo Ghost have exactly the same features including the same display size (1.38″ x 1.38″), front/center/back and hazard distances and shot distance measurement. Also the distances you get from these handheld units are almost as accurate as the distances from the best inexpensive golf laser rangefinders.

Reasons to purchase the Bushnell Phantom – Features found in the Bushnell Phantom that are missing in the Neo Ghost

Reasons to purchase the Garmin Approach G10

The Garmin Approach G10 is the best affordable handheld golf GPS device that does not come with the color course maps, touch targeting and larger displays found in the more expensive Garmin handheld models (Garmin G80, Garmin G8, G7, G6, G30). It has many of the same features as the best golf GPS watches, including the Garmin S10 and Garmin S20. The Garmin G10 comes with many features not found in the Golf Buddy Voice 2, Bushnell Neo Ghost and Bushnell Phantom (improved version of the Bushnell Neo Ghost released in 2018) including comprehensive layup & carry distances to hazards, layup and dogleg distances for par 4 and 5 holes, stat tracking and a digital scorecard feature. The Garmin G10 is the smallest handheld golf GPS that Garmin has ever made (the longest part is only 2 inches long which means it is smaller than the palm of your hand) and some people have complained that it is really easy to lose because of its’ diminutive size. If you want a bigger GPS that has a big, clear, easier to read screen, then you should get the Bushnell Phantom instead.

Best Features of the Garmin Approach G10

Garmin Approach G10 vs Bushnell Phantom vs Bushnell Neo Ghost: Differences and Similarities

The Garmin Approach G10, Bushnell Phantom and Bushnell Neo Ghost can show accurate yardages to the front, center and back of the green and measure your shot distance. However, the Garmin Approach G10 displays much better hazard information than the Bushnell Phantom and Bushnell Neo Ghost. The Phantom and Neo Ghost show distances to only 4 hazards per hole and neither has a scorecard or stat tracking. But the Bushnell Phantom and Bushnell Neo Ghost have a larger display.

Only the G10 will display layup and dogleg distances for par 4 and 5 holes, the true shape and layout of green and also includes stat tracking and a digital scorecard feature. Both the Bushnell Phantom and Neo Ghost will not display the true shape and layout of green and will display hazard distances for only 4 hazards per hole. For some of the hazards, they will only give you the distance to the hazard and not the layup and carry distances to the hazard like the Garmin G10 gives you. Also both the Bushnell Phantom and Neo Ghost have no stat tracking or digital scorecard feature.
