The Baltimore Ravens are reportedly heavily considering other quarterback options leading up to the 2023 NFL draft in case they are unable to lock in Lamar Jackson for 2023 and beyond.

During an appearance Friday morning on Get Up, ESPN NFL insider Jeremy Fowler reported the Ravens are in "full contingency mode" at quarterback and are "looking at basically the full spectrum of quarterbacks in this draft."

Last month, the Ravens placed the non-exclusive franchise tag on Jackson, meaning he can negotiate with other teams. If Jackson signs an offer sheet with another team, the Ravens can either match it or decline it and receive two first-round picks from the team that signs Jackson.

Jackson has made it clear that he no longer wants to play for the Ravens, as he recently divulged that he requested a trade at the start of March.

Fowler reported that the Ravens tried to add to their quarterback depth in free agency by pursuing Baker Mayfield and Jacoby Brissett, but they signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Washington Commanders, respectively.

Per Albert Breer of The MMQB, Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said Wednesday that the Ravens would consider taking a quarterback with their first-round pick, noting: "I'd have to say yes because we have QBs in our top 31."

DeCosta also said he believes there are "more than four" quarterbacks in the 2023 class capable of being impactful players at the next level.

Four quarterbacks are considered virtual locks to be first-round picks in the 2023 draft. They are Alabama's Bryce Young, Ohio State's C.J. Stroud, Florida's Anthony Richardson and Kentucky's Will Levis.

Since the Ravens pick 22nd overall and many teams picking ahead of them need quarterbacks, it is unlikely Baltimore will get any of the aforementioned players unless it trades up.

Tennessee's Hendon Hooker, who suffered a torn ACL in November, has been receiving some first-round buzz lately, and if the Ravens like him, it isn't outside the realm of possibility that he could be the pick at No. 22.

If that scenario plays out, the Ravens would have greater incentive to trade Jackson, although they could also try to convince him to sign his franchise tender for 2023 and allow Hooker or another quarterback to sit behind him and learn for a season.

Publicly, Jackson seemingly hasn't had much of a market thus far despite being the 2019 NFL MVP and leading the Ravens to the playoffs in four of his five NFL seasons.

That could change in the wake of the draft, however, thus giving Jackson and the Ravens more options.

Jackson could choose to hold out and not sign his franchise tender in an attempt to force a trade, but that will require a willing trade partner.

Even if the Ravens miss out on a first-round quarterback and would like to try to keep Jackson in 2023 and beyond, they still figure to take a quarterback at some point in the draft.

Outside of the top five options, some prospects Baltimore could consider on Day 2 or Day 3 include Fresno State's Jake Haener, Houston's Clayton Tune, Stanford's Tanner McKee, Purdue's Aidan O'Connell, Georgia's Stetson Bennett and TCU's Max Duggan.
