Running batch file with variable from HTML/JS form?!?!@timjfisherCopy linkTweet thisAlerts: November 2nd, 2004

I just can not figure out how to do this and would appreciate any input. Maybe I’m completely on the wrong track, I’m not sure.

Here’s an example of what I want to do:

I want to be able to enter text in a textbox in an HTML document (in a form). When I hit SUBMIT, I want to be able to use the text I entered as the variable for a batch file.

Here is the batch file (named lscript.cmd):

———start notepad “[SERVER NAME]PROFILE$%1.bat” ———

When in a command prompt, I can easily type “lscript msanders” which will open up “[SERVER NAME]PROFILE$msanders.bat” in notepad.

I want to be able to enter “msanders” in the text box on my HTML page, hit SUBMIT and get the same results.

Any suggestions? I’m just getting familiar with JavaScript and thought that there might be way to get the results I want using it.

Thanks.
