When you are importing records for fully depreciated or disposed assets, you must include additional fields and validations. These additional entries ensure that no other depreciation charge is recorded against these assets.

Before you import fully depreciated and disposed assets, check the values in the CSV import file and make the following changes:

Set the Asset Status column to Fully Depreciated or Disposed.

Set the Depreciation Active column to FALSE. This ensures that no depreciation entry is recognized.

Check if the Last Depreciation Period matches the Last Depreciation Date. The period number (within the lifetime of the asset) in which the asset was most recently depreciated must match the asset鈥檚 most recent depreciation date. For example, if the Depreciation Start Date is July 1, 2021 and the Last Depreciation Date is December 31, 2021, then the Last Depreciation Period should be 6. If the Last Depreciation Period and Last Depreciation Date do not match, an error may occur.

For fully depreciated assets, if there is a Residual Value Percentage, the Current Net Book Value should be equal to the Residual Value. If there is no Residual Value Percentage, the Current Net Book Value should be zero.

For disposed assets, the Current Net Book Value must always be zero.

You can use this template as a guide when you prepare the CSV import file for fully depreciated and disposed asset.

To import fully depreciated or disposed fixed asset records, see Importing Fixed Asset Records.
