Albert Sambi Lokonga has said on Instagram that Arsenal defender Gabriel is an “underrated player” after the match against Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United at St. James’ Park on Sunday afternoon.

Arsenal got the better of Newcastle 2-0 away from home in the league yesterday.

The win for Mikel Arteta’s side means that they have maintained their pressure on defending champions Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.

Arsenal are second in the Premier League table at the moment with 81 points from 35 matches.

The Gunners are a point behind leaders City, who have played 34 games.

Gabriel has taken to Instagram to express his delight at the win for Arsenal.

And Lokonga has praised the Brazilian defender, as you can see from his post below.

The 23-year-old midfielder, who is on loan at Crystal Palace from Arsenal at the moment, has said that the £27 million (SkySports) Brazilian star is “underrated”.

The 25-year-old Brazilian defender has scored three goals in 35 appearances the Premier League matches for Arsenal this season.

Gabriel has been criticised on occasions, but there is no doubt that he is a very good defender who has improved and developed during his time at Arsenal.

And he is still only 25.
