問：我想請教adapt 用法, adapt to 與adapt for 有何區別?
答：當adapt 用法作“使適應於”解時, 後面跟介係詞to; 當adapt 作“把⋯⋯ 改(編) 為⋯ ⋯”解時, 後面跟介係詞for :
I suggested he should adapt himself to his new conditions.我曾建議他使自己適應新的環境。They found it hard to adapt themselves to this strict discipline.他們發現很難適應這種嚴格的紀律。The author is going to adapt his play for television. 作者打算把他的劇本改編成電視劇。
