熔炉（The Forge）是饥荒：联机版的独有活动，也是计划中一系列此类活动的第一个。该活动是一个多人合作（最多支持六人）的挑战模式，主题是使用崭新的武器、护甲、和角色战斗能力与敌人战斗。

熔炉第一季正式开始于2017年11月9日，同期游戏更新了熔炉主题的“角斗士”系列皮肤和涉及线轴的新皮肤系统，在2017年12月4日活动结束之后，科雷发布了一些熔炉的官方统计数据。

熔炉第二季的测试版于2018年11月5日[1]发布，并于同月8日发布了正式版。与第一季相比，加入了新物品和新生物作为社区集体胜利奖励，并同期更新了“岩浆”系列皮肤。第二季结束于2018年12月3日。

随着远古大门的激活，我们的冒险家们发现自己被困在了一个战火纷飞的世界。如果他们还想着要回家的话，他们就必须团结起来打败战斗大师的军队和他的勇士——大熔炉猪战士。 With the Ancient Gateway activated, our survivors now find themselves trapped in a hostile world of fire and battle. They’ll need to team up to defeat the Battlemaster’s army and his champion, the Grand Forge Boarrior, if they have any hopes of returning home.

进入游戏主界面，左下角第一行为"Enter the Forge"（进入熔炉） 点击该选项后，出现三个选项：①Quick Match（快速游戏）②Custom Match（自定义游戏）③Browse Servers（浏览服务器） 当你进入熔炉游戏后，屏幕左上角可查看该服务器内当前玩家选择的角色。屏幕第一页为选人界面，第二页为准备界面。若所有人选择完角色，游戏将在5秒钟后开始。 推荐以标准6人阵容出战，如果你和你的伙伴们有足够的实力，可以适当减少人数，以此增加你的游戏难度。

回合1第1波：东北点，西南点，东南点各出1只战猪。

回合1第2波：东北点，西南点，东南点各出2只战猪。

回合1第3波：东北点，西南点，东南点各出3只战猪。

回合1第4波：东北点，西南点，东南点各出4只战猪。

回合2第1波：东北点，西南点，各出1只鳄鱼指挥官和3只战猪。

回合2第2波：东北点，西南点，各出1只鳄鱼指挥官和3只战猪。

回合3：东北点，西南点，各出2只坦克龟，东南点出3只坦克龟。

回合4第1波：东北点，西南点，各出2只酸蚀蝎，东南点出3只酸蚀蝎。

回合4第2波：，西南点各出1只酸蚀蝎和1只坦克龟。

回合4第3波：当"回合4第2波"中的怪物全部死亡或在"回合4第2波"开始15秒后在东南点出1只野猪猩。

回合5第1波：东北点，西南点，各出1只野猪猩。

回合5第2波：当"回合5第1波"中的其中一只野猪猩的生命值到达40%(3080)或两只野猪猩的生命百分比总和到达120%(9240/15400)，东南点出1只鳄鱼指挥官和2只战猪。

回合5第3波：当"回合5第1波"中的其中一只野猪猩死亡或两只野猪猩的生命百分比总和到达40%(3080/15400)，东南点出1只鳄鱼指挥官和2只战猪。

回合5第4波：当"回合5第1波"中的两只野猪猩的生命百分比总和到达10%(1540/15400)，东南点出1只大熔炉猪战士。

回合6：东北点出现1只平沿帽犀牛兄弟，西南点出现1只后扣帽犀牛兄弟。（犀牛兄弟）

回合7：东南点出1只地狱独眼巨猪。

你有两种办法以结束游戏。 其一，你的队友与你在打败地狱独眼巨猪前全部死亡； 其二，打败地狱独眼巨猪。 游戏结束后，会显示结算页面。结算页面会显示你本局游戏中获得的经验值及所有人在本局游戏中的详细信息。（详细信息包括玩家在本局游戏中造成的伤害、死亡次数、吸引怪物注意的时间等。）
