风力等级表是根据平地上离地10米处风速值大小制定的。在一般情况下以0至12级共13个级别表示，但在特殊情况下存在13级以上的风力等级。

各级大风用英语怎么说？

通常情况下，我们形容“等级”这个含义，会用“level”来表达，但对于风的等级来说，level并不是一个贴切的词。

无风或零级风 calm/ force zero

calm这个词很常见，calm down这个短语经常用来形容“镇静下来”，normally we can use it when a shocking thing is happening, we say "calm down" to those involved in the accident.

表现：烟直上，感觉没风

e.g.  It's a calm day. 今日风平浪静。

一级风 light air / force one

表现：烟示风向 ，风向标不转动

微风/二级风 light breeze / force two

breeze除了微风的意思之外，还可以用来形容 a thing that is easy to do——轻而易举的事

表现：感觉有风，树叶有一点响声

三级风 gentle breeze / force three

表现：树叶树枝摇摆，旌旗展开

四级风 moderate breeze / force four

表现：吹起尘土﹑纸张﹑灰尘、沙粒

清劲风/五级风  fresh breeze / force five

表现：小树摇摆，湖面泛小波，阻力极大

强风/六级风 strong breeze / force six

表现：树枝摇动，电线有声，举伞困难

大风/八级风 gale / force eight

表现：折毁树枝，前行感觉阻力很大，可能伞飞走

烈风/九级风 strong gale / force nine

表现：屋顶受损，瓦片吹飞，树枝折断

狂风/十级风 storm / force ten

表现：拔起树木 ，摧毁房屋

暴风/十一级风 violent storm / force eleven

表现：损毁普遍，房屋吹走，有可能出现“沙尘暴”

台风/飓风/十一级以上的风 typhoon / hurricane

表现：陆上极少，造成巨大灾害，房屋吹走

How to protect yourself when typhoon comes?

Needless to say, weather reports（天气预报） are of great importance. Monitor weather reports closely so that you know when you and your family can expect the most intense wind and rain.

Basic necessities（基本必需品）, such as food, water and dry clothing, should be prepared beforehand.

During the storm，remain indoors（待在室内）. Only in the event of a dire emergency（极端紧急情况）, such as a fire, should you venture （冒险）outside. 除非遇到像火灾这样的极端紧急情况，才冒险出门。

Turn off electricity as instructed. 关闭电源。

Make sure to have the means of getting out of the house in case the condition indoors is out of control.
