Neodymium doped(Nd 3+) garnet laser gain medium brings a new research direction for the development of solid state lasers.In this paper,the current research status of Nd 3+ doped mixed crystal all solid state lasers in single wavelength output lasers,multi wavelength output lasers and pulse output lasers is described in detail and comprehensively with related works.Taking Nd∶LuYAG,Nd∶GdYAG and Nd∶GdLuAG as the main research objects,the research value of these three mixed crystals are summarized and the development prospect of Nd 3+ doped garnet mixed crystals are prospected.
