01、mask=口罩

一般来说，在外教的课堂上，用mask来表达口罩的用法比较普遍。在词典中，mask指的是：a covering for part or all of the face, worn to hide or protect it.（一部分或全部脸的覆盖物，用来隐藏或保护它。）

例句：

①You must wear goggles and a mask that will protect you against the fumes

为了免受烟雾危害，你必须戴上护目镜和面罩。

②His mask of detachment cracked, and she saw for an instant an angry and violent man

他冷静超然的伪装破碎了，一瞬间她的面前出现了一个愤怒而又狂暴的男人。

但是在日常生活当中，单单用mask来表达口罩似乎还是不够用。接下来，我们就来看看，不同类型的口罩，英文都是怎么说的。

02、N95口罩=N95-certified masks

为啥叫N95型口罩？因为是NIOSH（National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health，美国国家职业安全卫生研究所）认证的9种防颗粒物口罩中的一种。

达到N95等级的口罩可以滤除超过95%的直径大于0.3微米的颗粒物。

A mask rated N95 filters out more than 95% of particles larger than 0.3 microns.

03、医用外科口罩=Surgical mask

Surgical 用作形容词的时候可以翻译为used in or connected with surgery，就是指外科的；外科手术的。加上mask就是外科口罩啦！

例句：

She wore a surgical mask and rubber gloves while she worked with the samples.

她处理样品的时候戴着手术口罩和橡胶手套。

04、活性炭口罩=Activated Carbon mask

首先，Activated这个词翻译为：被激活;活化;已激活;激活的;活性等意思。Carbon就是碳的意思啦，因此，全部组合起来就是活性炭口罩的意思啦！

对了！活性炭口罩的活性炭层可增加对异味的滤除作用，但不能增加对颗粒物的防护效果。简单点说就是对这次的病毒防控力量不大。

例句：
