（1）它不会告诉你affiliate一般都会在合同中定义，很少会定义为“关联公司”的含义，因为协议方要扩大“关联”的权利义务针对范围。

一般做法是先定义Person，不仅包括自然人和公司，还包括合伙企业等非法人组织。然后在Affiliate的定义中对Person的关系进行描述。所以Affiliate在合同中最常翻译为“关联方”。

“Person” means any individual, corporation, partnership, trust, limited liability company, association or other entity.

“Affiliate” means, with respect to any specified Person, any other Person who, directly or indirectly, controls, is controlled by, or is under common control with such Person...

（2）它不会告诉你affiliate什么时候翻“联营企业”？

在财务报表中，associates和affiliates表示持股20%～50%、能对公司产生重大影响的联营企业。不过associates比affiliates常用，通常搭配是associates and joint ventures（联营企业和合营企业）。

（Investopedia）In most cases, affiliate and associate are used synonymously to describe a company with a parent company that only possesses a stake of between 20 and 50% ownership of the company.

warrant（ 从一篇文章中看到错误内容，不截图了，以字典查得的差不多含义做说明）

它不会告诉你warrant在合同中通常是这么用的：

（1）represent and warrant that.... 做出以下陈述与保证；

（2）implied warranty 默示保证，特别是在买卖合同中指“默示担保”（而不是翻“暗示的保证”）；

（3） warranty period 质量保证期，简称“质保期”；

（4）warrant在投融资文件中还可能指“认股权证”（翻“认股证书”不精准）。

【那么如何积累法律英语词汇？】

当然S不是完全反对积累法律英语核心词汇，一是来源，建议买专业一些的核心词汇用书；二是对象，建议已经有一定法律英语或法律翻译基础的亲们进行补遗，或者已经有一定法律实务经验的亲们进行有针对性的大量积累。

不过最推荐的方式，还是在阅读法律英语资料以及做法律翻译中（即语境中）积累法律英语词汇。
