The villagers took out red oranges, peanuts and other delicious things to eat together and congratulated each other. Since then, people have called the first day of the first month "new year". People in the market are carrying new years goods, flowers, orange trees and dolls. The scene is very lively, and the happy news of Spring Festival is on their faces.

　　When I got home, my neighbors family of three were doing sanitation. My mother was busy saying to me, "if you are free now, lets start cleaning the inner room." I nodded my head knowingly, and my mother gave me a pair of latex gloves and towels, and then we both went to work. Wipe the door first, then the window, and soon my mother and I will clean the whole house clean, so that we can show the new years customs.

　　On the morning of the thirtieth of the lunar new year, we will tear off all the Spring Festival couplets and blessing characters of last year and paste them with the new ones. This is called removing the old and welcoming the new. In the evening, the whole family will eat the reunion dinner together. People who work outside will also come home. One more thing is important, that is people should stay up late or all night on New Years Eve to welcome the new year.

　　On New Year’s Day of the Chinese lunar calendar, relatives and friends would sendNew Years greetings to each other to wish everything smooth in the New Year. Adult usually give lucky money to children during Spring Festival.

　　The second day of the New Year is usually called the day of visiting parental home, which means that married daughters should return to their parents home.
