说到“打脸”，是指某人夸了海口或用其他方式说了不太对的话，后来自己没能做到或者是有事与愿违的结果出现。给听众、公众的感觉就是“自己打自己脸”。（一般指被当面证明错误，使其丢脸；或者不给面子。）一、“打脸”表现得非常形象、诙谐又有调侃的意味，那如何用英文如何表达呢？有人说是“beat face”，也有人说是“hit face”：都知道face是“脸”，hit是“打”，但是“打脸”不是hit face这么简单哦。

三、不要脸的行为真的很丢脸，那“丢脸”英语怎么说？lose face英文释义：to be less respected or look stupid because of something you have done因为做过某事，不受到尊重，或者显得很愚蠢例：Many leaders don't want to lose face by admitting failures.许多领导不想因为承认失败而丢面子。英文里既有lose face，也有save face，可以被理解为：保住面子例：Jill didn't get the joke, but she laughed along to save face & hoped that no one would ask her to explain the punch line（笑点）.吉尔没听懂那个笑话，但为了保全面子，她一直笑个不停，同时希望不会有人请她解释笑点在哪feel embarrassed 尴尬例：I felt so embarrassed when I fell on the floor in front of everyone.在众人面前摔了一跤，我感觉好丢脸啊。
