The Lenovo ThinkPad X395 is a laptop that was marketed toward businesses, first releasing in Q2 2019. As with all laptops in Lenovo's X series, the focus for designing the X395 was to produce a thin, lightweight, and power-efficient laptop that was adaptable for productivity while on the move. Typical of business-oriented laptops, the X395 would accommodate a wide gamut of consumers by offering a diverse range of hardware options and amenities.

For processors, Lenovo offered the AMD Ryzen 3 PRO 3300U, configurable up to the Ryzen 7 PRO 3700U. The Lenovo ThinkPad X395 only features AMD processors, which distinguishes it from the Intel-based ThinkPad X390. Additionally, all of the ThinkPad X395 CPUs came equipped with integrated AMD Radeon™ Vega graphics. Businesses and prosumers that needed dedicated graphics solutions and processors with more than 4 cores would have been better accommodated by larger workstations such as the ThinkPad P53 at the time.

The most standout features of the X395 are its combination of battery life (14.5 hours), portability from its screen size (13.3 inch or 33.8 cm) and weight (approximately 3 lbs, or 1.35 kg), and its best-in-class integrated Vega graphics. Additionally, the Ryzen PRO processors found in the X395 come equipped with security features that would not be available with mainstream Ryzen laptops. A touch-screen was also offered for this laptop as an option.

The chassis for the Lenovo ThinkPad X395 only comes in matte black, and can easily be identified by the X395 lettering under the right side of the screen. The X395 lettering and the serial number for this laptop is written on the bottom of the chassis. Users can input this serial number on the official Lenovo Support website to find information pertinent to their X395, such as software and driver updates, warranty information, or even purchase new parts.
