Galerie Chenel是巴黎久负盛名的雕塑画廊，专门展出法国巴黎伏尔泰罗马文物和考古物件。此次委任 Lehanneur 为2016年9月10日至18日双年拍卖展设计60平米的展位，在巴黎大皇宫面向公众开放。

Valerie Chenel, the prestigious sculpture gallery that specialises in archaeological objects and Roman antiquities on Quai Voltaire, Paris, commissioned Lehanneur to create the concept for their 60m2 booth at the Biennale des Antiquaires (10-18 Sept 2016), which opened to the public at the Grand Palais, Paris, this weekend.

“我们希望Mathieu将此空间赋予新的意义和主题，让展品在空间中突出的同时又留给其呼吸的空间。”Galerie Chenel画廊的共同所有者 Olivier Chenel说道。Mathieu Lehanneur运用有生命和无生命的材质以及各种纹理如大理石，新鲜的绿色植物等设计展台，表达了对艺术的永恒美感和古文明的崇敬之情。他设计了一个框架突出每件展品，同时通过此方式来传达展品的历史年代和主题。

“We wanted Mathieu to design a set for us as we knew he would be able to bring another layer of interest to our space, to draw a theme around the works while respecting them and letting them breathe” says Olivier Chenel, co-owner of the Galerie Chenel. Mathieu Lehanneur’s design for the stand, with its mix of animate and inanimate materials and varied textures including marble and living greenery, pays homage to the timeless aesthetic beauty of the art and culture of the ancient civilization. It creates a framework in which each objects stands out yet in which they are all linked via a theme that transcends that of the period in which they were created.

“艺术的潮流来来去去，时而消逝，但是罗马文明时代的物品会永存。在这个加速发展的时代，考古文物传达出展现文明的必然性，并且产生了极大的共鸣。他是人类文明不变的印记，是人类智慧的史诗。我为Chenel 画廊设计的空间是对下个世纪美学想象的视觉再现，不带有任何怀旧的色彩。我希望设计一系列与古代和未来均有联系的空间。墙面以拉丝金属版装饰，并设有多个壁龛以强光照明，植物覆盖缠绕着展示雕像的亭子。画廊里的一切展示着人类过去和未来的美丽。我们所在的空间以石头，金属，植物和光组成，我们在这里被二十一世纪的精神所启发。”Lehanneur说道。

“Trends in art come and go and sometimes never come back. But the objects of the Roman civilization remain. In these accelerated times, archaeological works take on so much resonance and necessity. They appear as immutable signs of our civilization and the epic story of humankind.” says Lehanneur. The space that I imagined for Chenel Gallery projects itself into the next century in a visionary aesthetic without nostalgia. I wanted to create a set that references both the ancient past and the future. The brushed metal panels of the walls are pierced with highly illuminated niches and the vegetal covers the kiosk to host a magnificent statue. Everything here reveals the beauty of the human experience, past and future. We are in a space made of stone, metal, vegetation and light. We are in an enlightened spirit of the XXII century.” Mathieu Lehanneur.
