APSCO SSS-2B CubeSat was successfully launched into orbit with Transporter-7 at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California at 6:48 AM (UTC) on 15th April, 2023. It was deployed to its orbit at 7:49 AM (UTC). The project team received first telemetry at 8:02 AM (UTC), which is 12 minutes after the deployment. The uplink and downlink at those moments were verified. Up to now, telemetries from every pass were received. According to the data received, SSS-2B is healthy. Antennas were deployed successfully. The battery is charged from solar panel to the maximum voltage of 8.3 and the main subsystems are functional.

SSS-2B satellite is jointly designed and developed together with SSS-1 and SSS-2A satellites by APSCO Member States under the APSCO Student Small Satellite (SSS) Project which is one of the important training programs of APSCO aiming to promote the hands-on training for students and faculties of the Member States. SSS-1 is a 30kg micro-satellite and SSS-2A & SSS-2B are 4kg, 3U CubeSats. SSS-1 and SSS-2A were successfully launched into orbit in October 2021.

APSCO Member States will continue to jointly work together during the operation phase, in order to enhance the cooperation and harness more training achievement.
