生命科学学院二级教授，博士生导师，陕西省有突出贡献专家。1978-1982年就读陕西师范大学生物系获学士，1982-1985年于西北大学生物系获得动物学硕士学位。2001-2002年和2006年分别两次在日本京都大学灵长类研究所做客座教授，2007年在新西兰MASSEY大学做客座教授。2004年至2012年任生命科学学院副院长，2012年任生命科学学院院长。2009年至今任陕西省动物研究所所长，2015年至今任中国科学院西安分院副院长。

I was born in 1961 in Shaanxi Province, China, graduated in 1982 from the Shaanxi Normal University with B.S in Zoology, obtained my M.S in Northwest University in 1985. I had been appointed as a visiting professor in Kyoto University from May 2001 to April 2002, and 2006. Again I had been appointed as a visiting professor in Massey University in 2007. I have been working with ecology and behavior of primates, and jointing to observe Qinling golden snub-nosed monkey with USA, Japan, New Zealand and Australia researchers. My researches are mainly on the social-behavior and biological conservation of the rare and endangered monkeys. We are especially like to know how the Qinling golden snub-nosed monkeys adapt to and tolerate the habitat fragmentation, and how they form a large group different from other species in Colobinae. Our researching projects were supported by NSFC, Pro-Natura Fund of Japan, COSMO Oil Eco Card Foundation of Japan, Primate Conservation Inc. and Zoological Society of San Diego of USA.
