Date: Friday, November 18, 2022Time: 11:00am to 12:00pm ESTRegister here: https://bit.ly/3NS0rtKThe Canadian Organization for Rare Disorders (CORD) had hoped that we were finished talking about the PMPRB, with changed Health Canada direction in the regulations and litigation that clearly set out the mandate of the PMPRB. Unfortunately, the PMPRB is once again proposing complicated, uncertain and impossible-to-predict guidelines for how it will review medicines for “excessive” prices. Already, we’re getting medicines far after other major jurisdictions, and many medicines – especially those for rare diseases – aren’t coming to Canada at all. The good news is that CORD is ready to work with federal and provincial governments to implement Canada’s Rare Disease Strategy, anchored on a network of centres of excellence that will expand access to diagnosis, treatment and care for all Canadians. THIS is the way we’re going to secure better value for our collective investments in rare disease medicines: managed access programs, pay-for-performance and outcomes-based funding for therapies, and getting patients access medicines that save and improve their lives. Visit www.canada4rare.ca to learn more and take action. The PMPRB and the government of Canada need to hear from patients, once again, that their proposals to implement draconian regulations in a way that threatens the success of Canada’s rare disease drug strategy is unacceptable. On this webinar, we’ll hear from experts on the issue and invite an open conversation with stakeholders. We need discussion, shared questions and answers and a review of case studies, which is why we are hosting this session.
