深圳市第三人民医院（南方科技大学第二附属医院）始建于1985年，是由深圳市政府举办的一所“强专科，大综合”的现代化三级甲等研究型医院。医院占地面积19.84万平方米，建筑面积22.3万平方米，编制床位2416张（含应急院区负压病床1008张）。现有员工2121人，其中中高级职称1331人，博士（后）166人，硕士515人，研究生导师90人，先后自主培养了两位深圳市卫生系统国家自然科学基金杰出青年基金学者和一位国家自然科学基金优秀青年基金学者。目前已建设成为粤港澳大湾区规模大、设备先进、功能完善的感染性疾病诊疗与研究中心，主要承担深圳和周边地区传染病与重大疫情的防控任务并开展综合医疗服务。

　　医院于2017年获得肝脏、肾脏移植“牌照”，2018年成为第二批广东省高水平医院建设单位，2019年获批国家感染性疾病临床医学研究中心（深圳市唯一、广东省第三家），2020年成为中国医学科学院深圳传染性疾病诊疗研究中心，2023年获得肺脏、胰腺移植“牌照”。在2021年发布的《2020年度中国医院排行榜》中，医院首次进入全国百强医院榜单，这是深圳首家医院进入复旦版中国百强医院排行榜；结核病学科结核病专科进入复旦版《中国医院专科综合排行榜》第四名。

Introduction to The Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen

The Third People's Hospital of Shenzhen/The Second Affiliated Hospital of Southern University of Science and Technology (hereafter referred to as “the hospital”) was founded in 1985 by the Shenzhen municipal government. It is a grade A tertiary research-oriented hospital characterized by “strong specialty and comprehensive medical services”. The hospital covers an area of around 198,400 square meters with 223,000 square meters construction area and 2416 hospital beds (including 1008 in negative pressure wards in the emergency campus for infectious diseases). The hospital has 2141 staffs, and of those, 1331 have mid-, senior- professional titles, 166 have doctoral degrees (or post-doctoral experience), 515 have master’s degrees, 90 have been entitled to become supervisors of postgraduate students. This hospital trained two holders of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars and one holder of National Natural Science Foundation of Excellent Young Scientists Fund independently. By far, the hospital has become a large, well-equipped clinical and research center of infectious diseases in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area offering comprehensive services.Thus it contributes to the control of infectious disease and major public health emergency and benefits patients in Shenzhen and adjacent areas.

The hospital got the licenses for liver and kidney transplantation in 2017. It was included in the second batch of candidates of high-level hospitals in Guangdong in 2018. It was approved as a National Clinical Research Center for Infectious Diseases in 2019 May (The only one in Shenzhen, and only three totally in Guangdong) and identified as the Research Center for Diagnosis and Treatment of Infectious Diseases of Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. The hospital got the licenses for lung and pancreas transplantation in 2023. The year of 2021 witnessed remarkable improvement in the research capacity of the hospital (compared with the year of 2020). Remarkably, for the first time, the hospital was selected as a top 100 hospital in the China Hospital Ranking (Fudan version) in 2020 issued in 2021. It was the first time that the hospital (as well as the hospitals in Shenzhen) was included as a top 100 nationwide in this ranking system, and the department of phthisiology was ranked the top 4 nationwide in this system.
