Reporting to the Maintenance & Utilities Manager, the Electrical Engineer manages all the Electrical network and provides Engineering expertise to the Business.

Job Description

Manage Safety, Hygiene, Environment and Quality consistent with the policies on electrical and instrumentation activities;

To support measures to reduce the risk of intentional contamination of products during project design and on control systems - food defence;

To involve Maintenance (mechanical) and other Operating Areas on management of change, project design and implementation, by default and when appropriate;

Support site infrastructure for existing power systems and serves as resource for operating systems and applications for manufacturing processes;

Keep current in discipline, assess new technologies and ideas, develop, evaluate, and seek approval for new concepts or equipment to improve efficiency capability.

Coordinate personnel required to complete electrical & instrumentation assignments: supervise the activities of subcontractors and subordinate staff.

Evaluate and select appropriate electrical and instrumentation components, technologies, and advise suppliers to procurement.

To have a deep conceptual understanding of electrical systems and use this to give engineering advice to all business areas.

To develop, refine and implement maintenance strategies and plant improvement projects in order to reduce power consumption, increase reliability and decrease life cycle costs.

To evaluate events and maintenance practice / efficiency using recognized CI methodologies and provide recommendations for optimum plant performance.

To review current engineering best practice and technologies, assess its application and benefits to the Company.

Provide necessary assessment, training and subsequent authorization for Engineering personnel, and maintain training documentation.

The Successful Applicant

Degree in Electrical Engineering or related Engineering field from an accredited University;

Experience in managing aspects of Safety, Hygiene, Environment and Quality;

Preference with experience in an Electrical Maintenance Engineering position in a power or heavy process environment;

Significant change management implementation experience is essential;

Financial awareness with experience of managing operational budgets;

Good facilitator and ideally with knowledge and experienced with Continuous Improvement tools;

Fluent English.
