I was trying to install AutoCAD and during the installation, I got an error message saying:

"Install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86) Failed Installation aborted, Result=1603"

I checked the Control Panel > Programs, and Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86) was already installed, but AutoCAD wasn't detecting it.

So, I uninstalled Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86) from the Control Panel, and attempted to reinstall it from Miscrosoft's website.

I downloaded Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86), and saved it, and ran it.

The installation process went very fast, in a blink of an eye, but I did not get any error message, so, I assumed that it was installed successfully, even though I didn't get any message saying so.

To double check, I went to Control Panel > Programs, but I do not see Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86) listed there.

Currently, on my computer, I have these installed as shown in Control Panel > Programs:

Microsoft Visual F# 2.0 Runtime

Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 ADO.NET Entity Framework Tools

How can I install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86) successfully on my computer?  BTW, my OS is Windows 7-64 bit.

Ultimately, I want AutoCAD installer to detect Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable (x86) on my computer.
