Today I will tell you the difference between TOEFL, IELTS, Cambridgeexams and other English language exams when you are a foreigner.

今天我要告诉你们，托福、雅思、剑桥英检和其他英语考试对于外国人来说的区别。

The main difference between IELTS and TOEFL is that TOEFL is foreverything concerning the United States, and IELTS is for the rest of theworld : United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, European countries, theywill luckily accept IELTS than TOEFL.

雅思和托福的主要区别是托福是用于在美国做任何事情，而雅思则用于世界其他地方。比如英国、澳大利亚、新西兰、欧洲国家，比起托福它们更会接受雅思成绩。

As for Cambridge exams, they are becoming more popular now, becausethey are level oriented as I said before.

而剑桥英检，现在也越来越受欢迎了，因为它是分级测验的，这个我以前提到过。

The difference between TOEFL, IELTS and Cambridge exams in the waythey are assessing. TOEFL and IELTS are the same tests for every level, sofor example you are a beginner, and you are taking the same test as theadvanced student will. So you are doing the same tasks and how youmanage to do them shows what level you are at.

托福、雅思和剑桥英检的区别在于它们评量的方式不同。对于不同英语程度的人，托福和雅思的考试都是一样的，比如说，你是一个初学者，而你要考的试和高阶学生的是一样的。所以，你们都要完成一样的考卷，而你完成的质量如何会显示出你的英语等级。

Cambridge exams are just for the special level for B2 C1 and C2 and theytest your level very deeply and intensively. There's a thing called CEFR -Common European Framework of Reference. It is an international standardthat describes language ability so it is used worldwide to assess you andprove that you know English.

剑桥英检则是针对不同等级B2（FCE中高级）、C1（CAE高级）、C2（CPE最高级），而且他们以非常深且广的方式测验你的水平。有一种东西叫CEFR，欧洲共同语言参考标准，这是一种用来描述语言能力的国际标准，它在全世界受到广泛的使用来评量你并认证你会英语。

It divides English learners into six categories A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2. Hereyou can see marking systems of all these exams and how correlate withCEFR system.

这个标准把英语学习者分为六类：A1、A2、B1、B2、C1、C2.这里你可以看到这些考试的分级标准还有它们和CEFR的关联。

What exam should you take?

你应该要考哪个考试呢？

First of all you need to clearly understand why you need an exam. If youneed it for applying for university, work or visa requirements, you need tocontact your university or employer and find out what exam they recognize,and take this exam because you need it.

首先，你需要清楚的了解你为什么要考试。如果你需要用来申请大学、求职，或签证，你需要联络要申请的大学或雇主，来确认它们认可什么英语考试，然后再报考那个考试，因为你需要那个考试的成绩。

But, if you don't have a clear purpose yet, and you just want to add theexam on your CV and be a better candidate for potential job. I advise you totake Cambridge exam depending on what level you are, usually it's FirstCertificate English.

但是，如果你暂时没有任何目标，你只是想要在简历上加上英语考试的成绩，为潜在的工作机会做准备，我建议你根据你的英语程度报考剑桥英检，通常都是考FCE中高级。

Why?

为什么呢？

Because this exam gives your employer better understanding of your ability,and Cambridge exams don't have an expiration date so as soon as you getyour result, it will stay with you forever.

因为这个考试能让你的雇主更加了解你的能力，而且剑桥英检没有有效期，只要你拿到你的考试成绩，成绩永久有效。
