1 Hear my cry, O God;(A)    listen to my prayer.(B)

2 From the ends of the earth I call to you,    I call as my heart grows faint;(C)    lead me to the rock(D) that is higher than I.3 For you have been my refuge,(E)    a strong tower against the foe.(F)

4 I long to dwell(G) in your tent forever    and take refuge in the shelter of your wings.[b](H)5 For you, God, have heard my vows;(I)    you have given me the heritage of those who fear your name.(J)

6 Increase the days of the king’s life,(K)    his years for many generations.(L)7 May he be enthroned in God’s presence forever;(M)    appoint your love and faithfulness to protect him.(N)

8 Then I will ever sing in praise of your name(O)    and fulfill my vows day after day.(P)

1 Truly my soul finds rest(Q) in God;(R)    my salvation comes from him.2 Truly he is my rock(S) and my salvation;(T)    he is my fortress,(U) I will never be shaken.(V)

3 How long will you assault me?    Would all of you throw me down—    this leaning wall,(W) this tottering fence?4 Surely they intend to topple me    from my lofty place;    they take delight in lies.With their mouths they bless,    but in their hearts they curse.[d](X)

5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;(Y)    my hope comes from him.6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;    he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.7 My salvation and my honor depend on God[e];    he is my mighty rock, my refuge.(Z)8 Trust in him at all times, you people;(AA)    pour out your hearts to him,(AB)    for God is our refuge.

9 Surely the lowborn(AC) are but a breath,(AD)    the highborn are but a lie.If weighed on a balance,(AE) they are nothing;    together they are only a breath.10 Do not trust in extortion(AF)    or put vain hope in stolen goods;(AG)though your riches increase,    do not set your heart on them.(AH)

11 One thing God has spoken,    two things I have heard:“Power belongs to you, God,(AI)12     and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”;(AJ)and, “You reward everyone    according to what they have done.”(AK)

1 You, God, are my God,    earnestly I seek you;I thirst for you,(AL)    my whole being longs for you,in a dry and parched land    where there is no water.(AM)

2 I have seen you in the sanctuary(AN)    and beheld your power and your glory.(AO)3 Because your love is better than life,(AP)    my lips will glorify you.4 I will praise you as long as I live,(AQ)    and in your name I will lift up my hands.(AR)5 I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;(AS)    with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

6 On my bed I remember you;    I think of you through the watches of the night.(AT)7 Because you are my help,(AU)    I sing in the shadow of your wings.(AV)8 I cling to you;(AW)    your right hand upholds me.(AX)

9 Those who want to kill me will be destroyed;(AY)    they will go down to the depths of the earth.(AZ)10 They will be given over to the sword(BA)    and become food for jackals.(BB)

11 But the king will rejoice in God;    all who swear by God will glory in him,(BC)    while the mouths of liars will be silenced.(BD)

1 Hear me, my God, as I voice my complaint;(BE)    protect my life from the threat of the enemy.(BF)

2 Hide me from the conspiracy(BG) of the wicked,(BH)    from the plots of evildoers.3 They sharpen their tongues like swords(BI)    and aim cruel words like deadly arrows.(BJ)4 They shoot from ambush at the innocent;(BK)    they shoot suddenly, without fear.(BL)

5 They encourage each other in evil plans,    they talk about hiding their snares;(BM)    they say, “Who will see it[h]?”(BN)6 They plot injustice and say,    “We have devised a perfect plan!”    Surely the human mind and heart are cunning.

7 But God will shoot them with his arrows;    they will suddenly be struck down.8 He will turn their own tongues against them(BO)    and bring them to ruin;    all who see them will shake their heads(BP) in scorn.(BQ)9 All people will fear;(BR)    they will proclaim the works of God    and ponder what he has done.(BS)

10 The righteous will rejoice in the Lord(BT)    and take refuge in him;(BU)    all the upright in heart will glory in him!(BV)

1 Praise awaits[j] you, our God, in Zion;(BW)    to you our vows will be fulfilled.(BX)2 You who answer prayer,    to you all people will come.(BY)3 When we were overwhelmed by sins,(BZ)    you forgave[k] our transgressions.(CA)4 Blessed are those you choose(CB)    and bring near(CC) to live in your courts!We are filled with the good things of your house,(CD)    of your holy temple.

5 You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds,(CE)    God our Savior,(CF)the hope of all the ends of the earth(CG)    and of the farthest seas,(CH)6 who formed the mountains(CI) by your power,    having armed yourself with strength,(CJ)7 who stilled the roaring of the seas,(CK)    the roaring of their waves,    and the turmoil of the nations.(CL)8 The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;    where morning dawns, where evening fades,    you call forth songs of joy.(CM)

9 You care for the land and water it;(CN)    you enrich it abundantly.(CO)The streams of God are filled with water    to provide the people with grain,(CP)    for so you have ordained it.[l]10 You drench its furrows and level its ridges;    you soften it with showers(CQ) and bless its crops.11 You crown the year with your bounty,(CR)    and your carts overflow with abundance.(CS)12 The grasslands of the wilderness overflow;(CT)    the hills are clothed with gladness.(CU)13 The meadows are covered with flocks(CV)    and the valleys are mantled with grain;(CW)    they shout for joy and sing.(CX)

1 Shout for joy to God, all the earth!(CY)2     Sing the glory of his name;(CZ)    make his praise glorious.(DA)3 Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds!(DB)    So great is your power    that your enemies cringe(DC) before you.4 All the earth bows down(DD) to you;    they sing praise(DE) to you,    they sing the praises of your name.”[m]

5 Come and see what God has done,    his awesome deeds(DF) for mankind!6 He turned the sea into dry land,(DG)    they passed through(DH) the waters on foot—    come, let us rejoice(DI) in him.7 He rules forever(DJ) by his power,    his eyes watch(DK) the nations—    let not the rebellious(DL) rise up against him.

8 Praise(DM) our God, all peoples,    let the sound of his praise be heard;9 he has preserved our lives(DN)    and kept our feet from slipping.(DO)10 For you, God, tested(DP) us;    you refined us like silver.(DQ)11 You brought us into prison(DR)    and laid burdens(DS) on our backs.12 You let people ride over our heads;(DT)    we went through fire and water,    but you brought us to a place of abundance.(DU)

13 I will come to your temple with burnt offerings(DV)    and fulfill my vows(DW) to you—14 vows my lips promised and my mouth spoke    when I was in trouble.15 I will sacrifice fat animals to you    and an offering of rams;    I will offer bulls and goats.(DX)

16 Come and hear,(DY) all you who fear God;    let me tell(DZ) you what he has done for me.17 I cried out to him with my mouth;    his praise was on my tongue.18 If I had cherished sin in my heart,    the Lord would not have listened;(EA)19 but God has surely listened    and has heard(EB) my prayer.20 Praise be to God,    who has not rejected(EC) my prayer    or withheld his love from me!

1 May God be gracious to us and bless us    and make his face shine on us—[o](ED)2 so that your ways may be known on earth,    your salvation(EE) among all nations.(EF)

3 May the peoples praise you, God;    may all the peoples praise you.(EG)4 May the nations be glad and sing for joy,(EH)    for you rule the peoples with equity(EI)    and guide the nations of the earth.(EJ)5 May the peoples praise you, God;    may all the peoples praise you.

6 The land yields its harvest;(EK)    God, our God, blesses us.(EL)7 May God bless us still,    so that all the ends of the earth(EM) will fear him.(EN)

1 May God arise,(EO) may his enemies be scattered;(EP)    may his foes flee(EQ) before him.2 May you blow them away like smoke—(ER)    as wax melts(ES) before the fire,    may the wicked perish(ET) before God.3 But may the righteous be glad    and rejoice(EU) before God;    may they be happy and joyful.

4 Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,(EV)    extol him who rides on the clouds[q](EW);    rejoice before him—his name is the Lord.(EX)5 A father to the fatherless,(EY) a defender of widows,(EZ)    is God in his holy dwelling.(FA)6 God sets the lonely(FB) in families,[r](FC)    he leads out the prisoners(FD) with singing;    but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.(FE)

7 When you, God, went out(FF) before your people,    when you marched through the wilderness,[s](FG)8 the earth shook,(FH) the heavens poured down rain,(FI)    before God, the One of Sinai,(FJ)    before God, the God of Israel.(FK)9 You gave abundant showers,(FL) O God;    you refreshed your weary inheritance.10 Your people settled in it,    and from your bounty,(FM) God, you provided(FN) for the poor.

11 The Lord announces the word,    and the women who proclaim it are a mighty throng:(FO)12 “Kings and armies flee(FP) in haste;    the women at home divide the plunder.(FQ)13 Even while you sleep among the sheep pens,[t](FR)    the wings of my dove are sheathed with silver,    its feathers with shining gold.”14 When the Almighty[u] scattered(FS) the kings in the land,    it was like snow fallen on Mount Zalmon.(FT)

15 Mount Bashan,(FU) majestic mountain,(FV)    Mount Bashan, rugged mountain,16 why gaze in envy, you rugged mountain,    at the mountain where God chooses(FW) to reign,    where the Lord himself will dwell forever?(FX)17 The chariots(FY) of God are tens of thousands    and thousands of thousands;(FZ)    the Lord has come from Sinai into his sanctuary.[v]18 When you ascended(GA) on high,(GB)    you took many captives;(GC)    you received gifts from people,(GD)even from[w] the rebellious(GE)—    that you,[x] Lord God, might dwell there.

19 Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior,(GF)    who daily bears our burdens.(GG)20 Our God is a God who saves;(GH)    from the Sovereign Lord comes escape from death.(GI)21 Surely God will crush the heads(GJ) of his enemies,    the hairy crowns of those who go on in their sins.22 The Lord says, “I will bring them from Bashan;    I will bring them from the depths of the sea,(GK)23 that your feet may wade in the blood of your foes,(GL)    while the tongues of your dogs(GM) have their share.”

24 Your procession, God, has come into view,    the procession of my God and King into the sanctuary.(GN)25 In front are the singers,(GO) after them the musicians;(GP)    with them are the young women playing the timbrels.(GQ)26 Praise God in the great congregation;(GR)    praise the Lord in the assembly of Israel.(GS)27 There is the little tribe(GT) of Benjamin,(GU) leading them,    there the great throng of Judah’s princes,    and there the princes of Zebulun and of Naphtali.(GV)

28 Summon your power,(GW) God[y];    show us your strength,(GX) our God, as you have done(GY) before.29 Because of your temple at Jerusalem    kings will bring you gifts.(GZ)30 Rebuke the beast(HA) among the reeds,(HB)    the herd of bulls(HC) among the calves of the nations.Humbled, may the beast bring bars of silver.    Scatter the nations(HD) who delight in war.(HE)31 Envoys will come from Egypt;(HF)    Cush[z](HG) will submit herself to God.

32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth,(HH)    sing praise(HI) to the Lord,33 to him who rides(HJ) across the highest heavens, the ancient heavens,    who thunders(HK) with mighty voice.(HL)34 Proclaim the power(HM) of God,    whose majesty(HN) is over Israel,    whose power is in the heavens.35 You, God, are awesome(HO) in your sanctuary;(HP)    the God of Israel gives power and strength(HQ) to his people.(HR)

1 Save me, O God,    for the waters(HT) have come up to my neck.(HU)2 I sink in the miry depths,(HV)    where there is no foothold.I have come into the deep waters;    the floods engulf me.3 I am worn out calling for help;(HW)    my throat is parched.My eyes fail,(HX)    looking for my God.4 Those who hate me(HY) without reason(HZ)    outnumber the hairs of my head;many are my enemies without cause,(IA)    those who seek to destroy me.(IB)I am forced to restore    what I did not steal.

5 You, God, know my folly;(IC)    my guilt is not hidden from you.(ID)

6 Lord, the Lord Almighty,    may those who hope in you    not be disgraced because of me;God of Israel,    may those who seek you    not be put to shame because of me.7 For I endure scorn(IE) for your sake,(IF)    and shame covers my face.(IG)8 I am a foreigner to my own family,    a stranger to my own mother’s children;(IH)9 for zeal for your house consumes me,(II)    and the insults of those who insult you fall on me.(IJ)10 When I weep and fast,(IK)    I must endure scorn;11 when I put on sackcloth,(IL)    people make sport of me.12 Those who sit at the gate(IM) mock me,    and I am the song of the drunkards.(IN)

13 But I pray to you, Lord,    in the time of your favor;(IO)in your great love,(IP) O God,    answer me with your sure salvation.14 Rescue me from the mire,    do not let me sink;deliver me from those who hate me,    from the deep waters.(IQ)15 Do not let the floodwaters(IR) engulf me    or the depths swallow me up(IS)    or the pit close its mouth over me.(IT)

16 Answer me, Lord, out of the goodness of your love;(IU)    in your great mercy turn to me.17 Do not hide your face(IV) from your servant;    answer me quickly,(IW) for I am in trouble.(IX)18 Come near and rescue me;    deliver(IY) me because of my foes.

19 You know how I am scorned,(IZ) disgraced and shamed;    all my enemies are before you.20 Scorn has broken my heart    and has left me helpless;I looked for sympathy, but there was none,    for comforters,(JA) but I found none.(JB)21 They put gall in my food    and gave me vinegar(JC) for my thirst.(JD)

22 May the table set before them become a snare;    may it become retribution and[ab] a trap.(JE)23 May their eyes be darkened so they cannot see,    and their backs be bent forever.(JF)24 Pour out your wrath(JG) on them;    let your fierce anger overtake them.25 May their place be deserted;(JH)    let there be no one to dwell in their tents.(JI)26 For they persecute those you wound    and talk about the pain of those you hurt.(JJ)27 Charge them with crime upon crime;(JK)    do not let them share in your salvation.(JL)28 May they be blotted out of the book of life(JM)    and not be listed with the righteous.(JN)

29 But as for me, afflicted and in pain—    may your salvation, God, protect me.(JO)

30 I will praise God’s name in song(JP)    and glorify him(JQ) with thanksgiving.31 This will please the Lord more than an ox,    more than a bull with its horns and hooves.(JR)32 The poor will see and be glad(JS)—    you who seek God, may your hearts live!(JT)33 The Lord hears the needy(JU)    and does not despise his captive people.

34 Let heaven and earth praise him,    the seas and all that move in them,(JV)35 for God will save Zion(JW)    and rebuild the cities of Judah.(JX)Then people will settle there and possess it;36     the children of his servants will inherit it,(JY)    and those who love his name will dwell there.(JZ)

1 Hasten, O God, to save me;    come quickly, Lord, to help me.(KB)

2 May those who want to take my life(KC)    be put to shame and confusion;may all who desire my ruin    be turned back in disgrace.(KD)3 May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!”(KE)    turn back because of their shame.4 But may all who seek you(KF)    rejoice and be glad(KG) in you;may those who long for your saving help always say,    “The Lord is great!”(KH)

5 But as for me, I am poor and needy;(KI)    come quickly to me,(KJ) O God.You are my help(KK) and my deliverer;(KL)    Lord, do not delay.(KM)

1 In you, Lord, I have taken refuge;(KO)    let me never be put to shame.(KP)2 In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me;    turn your ear(KQ) to me and save me.3 Be my rock of refuge,    to which I can always go;give the command to save me,    for you are my rock and my fortress.(KR)4 Deliver(KS) me, my God, from the hand of the wicked,(KT)    from the grasp of those who are evil and cruel.(KU)

5 For you have been my hope,(KV) Sovereign Lord,    my confidence(KW) since my youth.6 From birth(KX) I have relied on you;    you brought me forth from my mother’s womb.(KY)    I will ever praise(KZ) you.7 I have become a sign(LA) to many;    you are my strong refuge.(LB)8 My mouth(LC) is filled with your praise,    declaring your splendor(LD) all day long.

9 Do not cast(LE) me away when I am old;(LF)    do not forsake(LG) me when my strength is gone.10 For my enemies(LH) speak against me;    those who wait to kill(LI) me conspire(LJ) together.11 They say, “God has forsaken(LK) him;    pursue him and seize him,    for no one will rescue(LL) him.”12 Do not be far(LM) from me, my God;    come quickly, God, to help(LN) me.13 May my accusers(LO) perish in shame;(LP)    may those who want to harm me    be covered with scorn and disgrace.(LQ)

14 As for me, I will always have hope;(LR)    I will praise you more and more.

15 My mouth will tell(LS) of your righteous deeds,(LT)    of your saving acts all day long—    though I know not how to relate them all.16 I will come and proclaim your mighty acts,(LU) Sovereign Lord;    I will proclaim your righteous deeds, yours alone.17 Since my youth, God, you have taught(LV) me,    and to this day I declare your marvelous deeds.(LW)18 Even when I am old and gray,(LX)    do not forsake me, my God,till I declare your power(LY) to the next generation,    your mighty acts to all who are to come.(LZ)

19 Your righteousness, God, reaches to the heavens,(MA)    you who have done great things.(MB)    Who is like you, God?(MC)20 Though you have made me see troubles,(MD)    many and bitter,    you will restore(ME) my life again;from the depths of the earth(MF)    you will again bring me up.21 You will increase my honor(MG)    and comfort(MH) me once more.

22 I will praise you with the harp(MI)    for your faithfulness, my God;I will sing praise to you with the lyre,(MJ)    Holy One of Israel.(MK)23 My lips will shout for joy(ML)    when I sing praise to you—    I whom you have delivered.(MM)24 My tongue will tell of your righteous acts    all day long,(MN)for those who wanted to harm me(MO)    have been put to shame and confusion.(MP)

1 Endow the king with your justice,(MQ) O God,    the royal son with your righteousness.2 May he judge your people in righteousness,(MR)    your afflicted ones with justice.

3 May the mountains bring prosperity to the people,    the hills the fruit of righteousness.4 May he defend the afflicted(MS) among the people    and save the children of the needy;(MT)    may he crush the oppressor.(MU)5 May he endure[ad](MV) as long as the sun,    as long as the moon, through all generations.(MW)6 May he be like rain(MX) falling on a mown field,    like showers watering the earth.7 In his days may the righteous flourish(MY)    and prosperity abound till the moon is no more.

8 May he rule from sea to sea    and from the River[ae](MZ) to the ends of the earth.(NA)9 May the desert tribes bow before him    and his enemies lick the dust.10 May the kings of Tarshish(NB) and of distant shores(NC)    bring tribute to him.May the kings of Sheba(ND) and Seba    present him gifts.(NE)11 May all kings bow down(NF) to him    and all nations serve(NG) him.

12 For he will deliver the needy who cry out,    the afflicted who have no one to help.13 He will take pity(NH) on the weak and the needy    and save the needy from death.14 He will rescue(NI) them from oppression and violence,    for precious(NJ) is their blood in his sight.

15 Long may he live!    May gold from Sheba(NK) be given him.May people ever pray for him    and bless him all day long.(NL)16 May grain(NM) abound throughout the land;    on the tops of the hills may it sway.May the crops(NN) flourish like Lebanon(NO)    and thrive[af] like the grass of the field.(NP)17 May his name endure forever;(NQ)    may it continue as long as the sun.(NR)

Then all nations will be blessed through him,[ag]    and they will call him blessed.(NS)

18 Praise be to the Lord God, the God of Israel,(NT)    who alone does marvelous deeds.(NU)19 Praise be to his glorious name(NV) forever;    may the whole earth be filled with his glory.(NW)Amen and Amen.(NX)
