给汽车加油用英文怎么说呢？你会说“add oil”吗? 我们要知道，oil 一般指的是食用油或者石油。汽油在美国叫做 gasoline, 简称 gas。在英式英文中，则会用 petrol。

车没油了，我们可以说 out of gas。

We’re out of gas.我们车没油了。 Your car is running out of gas? 你的车快没油。

给车加油，可以说：

We’re almost out of gas! We need to get some gas. 我们快没油了！我们需要加油。

I need to gas up my car before we go on the road trip. 在我们去公路旅行之前，我需要给我的汽车加油。

tank 指的是 gas tank/fuel tank（油箱），fill up表示“装满，充满”，所以 fill up the tank 就指给车子加满油，tank 可以用 car 或者其他的车来替代, 即可以用 fill up the car。

Did you fill up the tank? 你把油箱加满了吗？ I fill up my car about once a month. 我大约每个月给车加满一次油。

top off 表示加少量的油，以达到油箱满的状态。我们说 top it off 顶上去去表达把它填满。

I have about a half tank of gas, I’m going to go ahead and top it off. 我大约有半箱汽油，我要继续把它填满。 Can you top off the tank for me, please? 你能帮我把油箱加满吗？

refuel: 表示加油，也可以用作名词。

My car runs out of gas, so I need to refuel it. 我的车没油了，所以我需要加油。

pump the gas 是表示在加油站加油时，按下加油枪上的扳机，使油从加油枪流入汽车的油箱中。在这个过程中，加油站的泵会将汽油从地下油罐中抽出并送入加油枪。因此，”pump the gas” 可以理解为“将汽油泵送到汽车油箱中”的意思。
