在 Susan Kare 为 Mac、Windows 等平台打造的数千种出色设计中，还包括一款 Cairo dingbats 字体。不过在 Stage Manager 和 Live Captions 之外，我们现又在 macOS Ventura 上见到了 Clarus the Dogcow 的回归。

之所以用“dog”+“cow”来指代这一吉祥物，是因为原图画质和分辨率实在太低，以至于不少人在争论它到底是狗还是牛。

即便如此，它还是苹果向用户提供直观的打印预览的一个有趣尝试。在设置对话框中，Clarus 会为你指明纸张上的内容到底是按照纵向还是横向输出（并且支持缩放）。

遗憾的是，Clarus the dogcow 在 1990 年代后期突然消失。直到 2022 年，我们才在某些应用程序中见到了它的重返（使用 Command-Shift-P 打印组合键）。

有趣的是，早在今年 3 月的一篇报道中，就已经有人爆料过苹果在 iOS 原生输入法中出现的 Clarus the dogcow 彩蛋。
