《韦氏词典》对及物动词wonder的解释为:to be curious or in doubt about。 后接what, why, where, when引导的宾语从句时,其意义为to be curious about。后接whether/if从句时,意为to be in doubt about. COCA有如下例句: " Who's there? " he asked. Outside the door the friend wondered whether to identify himself or not. When they had left, Julia wondered whether to say anything or not. I wondered whether to risk coming in or not. He is still in some doubt about whether to go or not. I am wondering if you can give me a hand. 这要比I wonder if you... 另外,in one's mind意为“在心里”,而on one's mind意为“担忧、担心”。 What's in your mind? What's on your mind? Oh,you look so worried. What's on your mind? |
