We booked a 12 Days Silk Road Private Tour for 6 (starting from the ancient city of Luoyang all the way to Urumqi in Xinjiang Autonomous Region, China) with VisitOurChina tour company in August of this year. I have previously worked with Sandy our tour coordinator for a Private Tour to Huangshan last year. She is experienced and very professional. We had a wonderful trip! It's no wonder I sought her out again to plan for this once-in-a-lifetime trip. We completed the tour in October and I can honestly say that it was a truly wonderful and memorable experience. Sandy patiently worked with me to plan and coordinate every aspect of the trip meticulously down to the last detail. As luck would have it, we had an inauspicious start to our journey. We were caught in a traffic jam in Beijing when we arrived and we missed our High speed train ride to Luoyang! I called Sandy and she helped book us hotel rooms in Beijing for the night and secured train tickets for early the next morning to Luoyang. THANK YOU~ Sandy! Everything went smoothly after that. Our local guides were most accommodating and gracious. They were quite fluent (I booked an English speaking tour) and very knowledgeable about the local history and have plenty of interesting information to share on all the palces we visited. Their help was invaluable in dealing with hotel checking-ins, check-outs and transportation details as well. Having to move in and out of hotels daily and trying to catch all those train on time was very stressful~they made the whole process expedient and convenient. All our private vans were spacious & clean. The drivers were very accommodating (unscheduled bathroom breaks!) and nice as well. We visited more than six UNESCO Heritage Sites on this trip. The Silk Road is one of the most significant route linking the ancient societies of Asia, The Subcontinent, Central Asia, Western Asia, The Near East to Europe and contributed to the development of many great civilizations.
