Thermoelectric temperature controllers are used to control a thermoelectric cooler (TEC) that is typically integrated into a laser diode's package or part of a temperature controlled mounting plate. Precision diode  temperature control helps maintain output power and wavelength as well as prevent against over temperature conditions that can damage or prematurely age laser diodes. Temperature controllers may also be used to control other optical electric devices in research and development or manufacturing test. Temperature control feature either an easy to set up Hybrid P-I control loop or a full PID control loop.
