(JSE, since 2008; formerly Acta Phytotaxonomica Sinica), is a plant-based international journal newly dedicated to the description and understanding of biological diversity. It covers the description of new taxa, monographic revision, phylogenetics, molecular evolution and genome evolution, evolutionary developmental biology, evolutionary ecology, population biology, conservation biology, biogeography, paleobiology, evolutionary theories, and related subjects. A special issue on patterns of evolution and the tree of life was published in May 2008. The journal will become all-English in 2009 and will be published and distributed internationally by Wiley-Blackwell. In 2008, from ISI, the IF of JCR was 0.310 and the total citations were 351, whereas the CSTPCD IF and CSTPCD total citations were 0.742 and 1461, respectively.
