What I like about the Sound Blaster X7 is that you can take this sound card anywhere you need it. For example most laptops don't have good sound cards and most folks have to use an external DAC to do the work, however with Sound Blaster X7, you have it all. I call this the All-In-one sound card system. Why? because it is a true external sound card and a DAC. This is like having a mini-receiver that you carry around with you but only with a few options. I have this setup in a small space environment to get the best sound in movies, music and games. It is connected with a pair of powered speakers and a powered subwoofer. You can also manage the sound using an app in your android cell phone. It can bring a punch to your speakers once you adjust your level on the equalizer. The cons for this is that I wish it had more Line Outs since when I connect a powered subwoofer, I lose the option for a Center powered channel. I also would like all those connections RCA. The other wish I have is for an HDMI connection since now at days 4K TVs are coming out with Dolby Digital and Atmos. Overall this is a great on the go external sound card and a great mini setup to enhance the sound in movies from your New TV.
