I know this is long overdue but I'm doing this for the 15 year old girl who didn't know the impact of what she did at her new desk in 2020. I'm Marilyn Madlion and I wrote and published OC OD: Overcoming Her Overdose when I was 15. l wrote this book so I could visualize a me who had gone past the scars that I couldn't show anyone else. A me who had overcome it all. This book didn't start on Wattpad. It started as an idea in a green jotter I had found in a clearing and as soon as I went home, each pencil-written letter bled into 40 chapters on the dark screen of a Wattpad writer's account. Contrary to popular belief, this book wasn't written by just me. It was written by everyone who took the time every week to read the little ramblings of a character I created from my hurt. It was written by the people who left comments on each line about how they couldn't wait for more and what I could do to be better. Thank you @whitney.a_for never leaving and always believing. Thank you for staying even after the publishing was all done and everyone went away. Thank you @pat_madlion for making sure your daughter's dream was priority and for listening to me ramble about a plot twist I thought about in the shower. I'm making this post three years later because at the time, 15-year-old me had thought what she'd done was normal; that it was a party trick to randomly say to someone new. I'm making this post so l'll never forget where I was and always remember where l'm going. Most importantly I'm writing this for anyone who thinks it's impossible to accomplish anything. You really just need to want it bad enough. To everyone who's been so supportive all these three years I want to say a very big thank you for acknowledging all that I am and all I could be. I also want to say that none of this would have been possible without God's hand on my life. He always finds a way to turn terrible stories into uplifting ones and I'm happy I was one of his characters
