Sans / Undertale Last Breath [Legacy]
(This Wiki Article contains spoilers for UNDERTALE: Last Breath! If you do not like spoilers, please play the game for yourself! But, if you do not care about spoilers continue on! It should also be stated that this specific Wiki Article documents the version of sans from what is now known as the Legacy Edition of UNDERTALE: Last Breath). (Last Breath) Sans is a main character in the Alternate Timeline, Undertale: Last Breath by Zerjox and Team Imagination. This is specifically a version of Sans from the original Undertale, caught up within the events of a new timeline that ultimately takes a new path, straying away from the typical genocide timeline. Profile[] Story[]After an unknown amount of genocide timelines occur, the human notices a peculiar grey door that had never appeared in their journey in past timelines. They open the door to find a ghastly figure in the middle of a cold room. The human attempts to strike this figure down, yet to no avail as the figure had disappeared right before their eyes. It seemed that this was of no consequence on surface level, however, this was just the beginning of a domino effect. Sans was napping at his sentry station, when the figure started appeared throughout his fantasies. Sans was informed of the human's intentions to forever use monsters as their puppets and slaughter them. Skeptical at first, Sans refused to believe so; Gaster then resurfaced past Genocide timelines throughout Sans' mind. Now fully convinced, Sans readies himself to confront Frisk after being taught two new abilities: Orange Attacks and screen flipping. After killing everyone, Frisk is confronted by Sans in the Last Corridor. In the game, Sans fights frisk, no longer holding anything back and using every one of his abilities to its fullest. In the end, he becomes tired from dodging, giving Frisk the choice to give mercy. If you choose to fight, Sans will get hit, falling to the ground as he begins to bleed from the scar. He then begins to explain why he acts so lazy and is so nihilistic. It is due to the fact that he knows the anomaly would just erase it all in the end, so there was no real point to ever giving anything a real effort. Sans then becomes confused as to why he hasn't yet turned to dust, checking his HP to see he has a small fraction of health left. Refusing to let this second chance go to waste, Sans engages Frisk in another fight. Sans soon gets tired again from attacking and blocking, falling to the ground and dying. After Sans turns to dust, the mysterious character (Gaster) appears, and the screen cuts away. When the cut away is over, Sans is back on screen. When attacked, he takes no damage. Shortly after, Gaster takes over Sans' body. Gaster monologues to Frisk and disfigures Sans' face, forming a crack by the right side of his head to his eye. The screen begins to glitch as Gaster continues his dialogue, and each of the buttons (Attack, act, item, and mercy) are destroyed. Not only that but he then blindly attacks as a maniac, hoping to put an end to things once and for all. Eventually, Sans finally runs out of magic. As he looks like he hopes for the better to come, Frisk manages to hit him a second time. Sans then looks like he's about to stop smiling for once, but turns to dust and ashes before he could do so. Spare Ending[]When Sans offers Frisk mercy, Frisk will spare him out of remorse. Touched, Sans does not kill them and instead claims that he is proud of them. He then trusts Frisk to do the right as they turn to their Save Point. Appearance[](Phase 1) Sans differs little from his Original Counterpart. (Phase 1.5) Sans differs little from his Original Counterpart. (Phase 2) Sans now has a red wound on his torso. A bit of blood flows down through his mouth. His eyes look angry, and his pupils resemble a circle and are black on the inside. He still has his right arm in his jacket pocket, but releases his left arm, showing it is holding a bone. His left hand is also covered in a bit of blood. Sans will visibly grow more tired as the fight goes on, with a far more tired expression and sweat on his face. (Phase 3) Sans's right eye is slanted downward with the eyelid halfway closed. The shade between his eyes becomes pitch black, making them look connected. A fracture forms on the right side of his skull, making its way down toward his right eye. Another, shorter fracturs forms from the bottom of his left eye to his mouth. He also gains a creepy smile. His movements are jerky and puppet like, almost as if he's a marionette. At random points through the fight, Sans will have a static-like fuzz switch back and forth between his left and right eyes at a rapid pace, while at the same time, his teeth will disappear, showing a wide-open crazed smile. (Final moments.) He looks similar to his look in Phase 3, except with another red wound and a shorter smile. Personality[]Last breath Sans is, at first, similar to his Original counterpart. However, he quickly becomes filled with rage and anger. He does not (and will not) give up. He is no longer lazy and throws everything he has into defeating Frisk. Abilities[]After practicing with W.D. Gaster, Sans still keeps his old abilities, as well as harnessing new abilities no monster has ever been able to harness. Sans has the ability to summon bones from anywhere from the ground, roof, walls, and even in the air. These bones can come in all shapes and sizes, varying from long and short. He also has gaster blasters, powerful skull attacks that shoot energy beams to presumably deal immense damage to Frisk. Sans has also gained the ability to use orange attacks. Something only Papyrus has done in Undertale. Gaster has also taught Sans how to corrupt the screen and not only manipulate gravity, but also your own reality. As shown, the gaster blasters are the same in appearance and mechanic. Phase 1 and 2 contain normal gaster blasters with a sleeker look then the original Undertale gaster blasters. Phase 3 baster blasters are very different, They have the same aesthetic as Gaster controlled Sans With a crack in its skull going to its eye, and a crack that starts from the jaw and reaches up to the other eye, while also not having pupils. He is also shown to be able to break the menu buttons at the beginning of phase 3, though this is ability is presumably gained from Gaster. Relationships[] Papyrus[]In the original Undertale game, Sans greatly cares for Papyrus and greatly resented Frisk if they killed him. The same could be said here, as when Gaster was speaking through Sans' fantasies, Papyrus' scarf could be seen in the corner, showing that he truly loves his brother and knowing that he was slaughtered many times before must have been something else that had angered him. Gaster[]Gaster decides that Sans is the best tool to use in his experiment upon the human. Informing him about the humans nature and more, Gaster is a bearer of information for all it seems to Sans. Before phase 3 starts, Sans begins his dialogue, standing and changing his look similar to Gaster's and breaking all 4 buttons in sync with the music. Gaster will appear behind him in his right side, completely towering him in height. He enlarges his smile and opens his eyes, revealing his white pupils, before fading away, queuing the fight to start. Frisk[]Before the main events of every Undertale timeline, Sans initially promised Toriel to protect Frisk from harm, this being in as he would have to fight Frisk in the end, only to be killed countless times. After being informed of their future and past intentions, Sans gained a new hatred and fought them with all his might. Even after he was put on the verge of death twice, while also knowing that he's failed to stop them 29 times prior, Sans continued to fight until he was killed for the last time.
