Hi Li Ren, I’m pretty sure “followed by a vowel” in Brittish convention doesn’t include a silent “e” – can’t imagine a typical Brit pronouncing the r in your example words. But I might be wrong about that, especially since I’m American anyhow. I realize it’s been over 2 weeks, but I was thinkin’, if you absolutely need to hear that /r/ at the end of share or stare, maybe you should try an IPA-reader that has American English – or some other open source choices. With a little tweeking on the first reader I found, [called ipa-reader dot xyz] I was pleased to hear “Joanna’s” American English voice pronounce my name, which is Sheryl, perfectly:ʃˈɛ͡ɹəl
