Aston Villa’s Matty Cash suffered an injury in Poland’s defeat to Czech Republic last Friday.

A day later, the national team confirmed the right-back has a muscle strain and will be out of action for a week. Despite this, former Poland international Tomasz Hajto had accused the 25-year-old of faking an injury.

This didn’t go down well with the Aston Villa player’s father, Stuart Cash, who has now slammed Hajto during an interview with WP SportoweFakty.

“I am amazed that someone can make such comments. Especially without knowing the facts! As a family, we are very disappointed with such words, especially since they were spoken by someone who played football himself,” Stuart said.

WP SportoweFakty claim Hajto’s accusation has ‘hurt the whole Cash family’. With regards to the fullback’s injury, it’s claimed Stuart is ‘very nervous’.

The Aston Villa defender has undergone more tests and WP SportoweFakty add the results have shown he has a ‘second degree tear of the calf muscle’. That would force him to spend three weeks on the sidelines.

This timeframe cited was also mentioned by Przegląd Sportowy on Monday. They further stated Matty’s injury is worse than expected as he was initially expected to out of action for seven days.
