What is this website?

This website tracks & visualises the progress of the various Tunnel Boring Machines (TBM) for the UK's High Speed 2 (HS2) rail project.

By default distances are shown using metric units, you can click the button at the top of the page to swap to imperial measurements.

The data is refreshed daily from HS2's works map. HS2 generally update the TBM map positions on a bi-weekly to monthly basis.

Where can I learn more about the HS2 TBMs?

HS2 have an information page here with more details about the various TBMs that will work on the project.

During Phase One from London to Birmingham, a total of 10 TBMs will dig 64 miles (103 kilometres) of tunnels on the 140 mile (225 kilometres) route.
