For the successful development of a country, it is more important for a government to spend money on the education of very young children (five to ten years old) than to spend money on universities.

这是一个典型的议论文话题，考过托福的同学可能也发现了，这是一个托福独立写作题目，先看下面这位同学的开头段：

With the development of society, people put more emphasis on education. What kinds of education, early education or higher education, the government should invest money on has become an issue. In my view, more money should be spent on universities.

说实话，这位同学的语法基础不错了，会使用介词短语做状语、插入语、名词性从句等句型，但距离满分或者高分还有一些距离。

因为开头段是考官第一眼看到的，所以在力所能及（3分钟写完）的前提下要尽可能丰富句型，展现自己的语言实力，改写如下：

Never has education failed to draw people’s attention. Not only is it related to individual growth, but it is also associated with the prosperity of a country. Recently, there is a discussion about whether the government should invest more in teaching of young students or in the education of universities. In my view, it is universities that play a more significant role in the successful and sustainable development of a nation, and thus should receive more financial support.

这里有使用到倒装、宾语从句、强调句型，而且也有效利用同义词来避免重复用词，比如:

financial support = money;

the teaching of young students = education of young students;

the prosperity of a country = successful and sustainable development of a nation.

这些都是语言方面的实力，在应试类作文中需要凸显，以吸引考官眼球并夺取高分，要不然可能会获得平平的分数，可能就 “欢迎下次再来”了。
