Crestron App
Crestron App is a touch screen device, supported in Touch Screen Designer, which provides a Crestron touch screen user interface on Apple® iPhone® and iPad® touch devices and various Android™ devices. By adding the Crestron App device to a system project, you can create a touch screen design and compile it to use with an app which is available for download from the Crestron's Website (http://www.crestron.com/) and the Apple App Store. It supports the 3-series control systems and is fully integrated with Crestron Studio® and VT Pro-e® programming software. There are two versions of the Crestron App: a free (limited) version and a fully functional paid (Pro) version. Users who already have the free version of the app can initiate an in-app purchase to convert to the paid version. Note: Projects created for the free version of the Crestron App do not support streaming video (Embedded Video Application) and are limited to projects consisting of not more than 2 Pages and 1 Subpage. Both versions of the Crestron App run at the full native display size and resolution of the device, and are designed for use with the following: Apple® iPhone 5 Apple® iPad Apple® iPhone 4/4S Custom resolution devices Note that neither the Pro or free version of Crestron App supports custom controls.
To add a Crestron App device to your system: Drag the Crestron App device from the Product Browser to a room -or- Select the device and double click on it. The device is added to the folder in focus. -or- Point to the Plus Sign icon to the left of the name of the Crestron App device so it turns green and click on it. NOTE: If you plan on using a dynamic project name (project name will change during run time), make sure to add the Crestron App User Project Name to your project. The dynamic project name should be specified using the serial input . Hard-coded project name can be set using the parameter: and does not require the Crestron App User Project Name symbol.
To rename a Crestron App device: Right-click the Crestron App device and select Rename, or select it and press .
To remove a Crestron App device from your system: Right-click the Crestron App device and select Delete, or press .
A Crestron App project can be uploaded either to the control system, or directly to your phone or tablet, thus achieving faster upload time and saving valuable space on the control system. To upload Crestron App project directly to your device: Make sure that your device has:Crestron App running Wi Fi enabled Crestron App's control system settings are set to 'Use Local Project' Type the IP address of the phone/tablet n the Device Properties Grid of Crestron App -or- During the Upload Step, click on the Address field in the Upload Browser and then select or type the IP address of the device in the Address Book Dialog.
