It's time to party!

A grand festival in China, the Lunar New Year, also known as Spring Festival, falls on Jan 25, 2020 -- the Year of the Rat.

Traditionally, the Chinese New Year is the most important time for family reunions and all kinds of gatherings. The reunion dinner on New Year's Eve is one of the biggest feasts of the year for almost every family. Another tradition which has developed over the past 30 years has been the Annual Spring Festival Gala broadcast on China Central Television.

Kids look forward to New Year's Eve months ahead of the time in anticipation of receiving red envelopes, or hongbao in Chinese, which will be stuffed with "lucky money" from their parents and older relatives.

The Spring Festival celebration lasts for 15 days until Lantern Festival. If you will be in Hangzhou during this time of the year, how will you celebrate? A whole lot of fun events are to be held in the city. Below is key information for those in Hangzhou during the festival period.

春节可是中国最重要的节日，每年春节的时间都不一样，这要看阴历，今年年三十是1月24日，大年初一是1月25日。

春节对于中国人而言是团聚的大日子，年三十晚上的年夜饭及晚上8点开始的央视春节联欢晚会是当天的重头戏。一家老老少少坐在一起，吃饭，干杯，聊天，欢笑不断。

孩子们可能几个月前就开始期待过年，因为过年他们可以领到很多红包，大年初一还可以穿上自己挑选的新衣服，快乐无穷。

过年一直要持续到阴历一月十五，也就是元宵节。你在杭州过年吗？你打算怎么过呢？我们整理了一些活动、交通、快递、电影、购物等方面的资讯，希望能对你有点用。

Will run normally with extra charge .

From Jan 6 to 23, SF Express will charge an extra 10 yuan ($1.4) or more for heavy parcels and parcels lighter than the standard container. The same fee will be charged for delivery services in major cities from Jan 24 to 30.

Most logistics companies will run as usual, yet probably with an extra charge.

根据各家快递、电商物流公司陆续发布的春节服务公告，各家快递、物流公司将启动“不打烊”的春节服务模式。顺丰、韵达、圆通、京东物流等快递、电商物流公司均明确表示春节期间将适当加价，以保障服务质量。

根据顺丰速运官网，2020年1月6日-1月23日期间，顺丰将对重货包裹、小票零担、物流普运、专线普运产品加收不低于10元的资源调节费。1月24日-1月30日春节假期期间将对主要城市互寄服务加收不低于10元的资源调节费。

Service time will be extended during the holiday.

Hangzhou metro will extend its service hours by 30 minutes during the busiest days (Jan 10-23; Feb 8-18). The last train of Line 1, 2, 4, 5 will depart at 11:00 pm.

杭州地铁线网将在春运返乡客流高峰期（1月10日至1月23日）延长运营时间半小时；回程客流高峰期（2月8日至2月18日）延长运营时间半小时，地铁1、2、4、5号线末班车起点站发车时间延长至23:00左右。

在春运客流低谷期（1月24日至1月29日）和平峰期（1月30日至2月7日）不延长运营时间，地铁1、2、4、5号线末班车起点站发车时间在22:30左右。杭州地铁将在春运及春节假期期间视情况加密行车间。

Taxis will have higher flag-down fares.

From Jan 24 to 30, the flag-down fare for taxis will rise to 23 yuan for the first 3 kilometers, which is 10 yuan more than usual.

Waiting fees (when the speed is slower than 12km/h) will be 3.75 yuan for every 4 minutes from 7 am to 9 am and 2.5 yuan the rest of the time.

大年三十至正月初六，今年就是1月24日至1月30日的7天时间，任何时段乘坐巡游出租车都需增付春节期间每车次计价器外加收10元的特别补偿费。

在加收10元特别补偿费的同时，每日23时至次日5时期间里程费上浮30%的夜间补贴费、低速补贴费、回空补贴费也将正常收取。

低速等候费的收费标准为时速12公里（含）以下，上午7时至9时以外的其他时段每4分钟收取1公里里程费（2.5元），上午7时至9时每4分钟收取1.5公里里程费（3.75元）。回空补贴费为10公里以上里程费加收50%（1.25元）。

Plum trees are blossoming during this period.

With about 50,000 plum trees of more than 400 species, Chaoshan Mountain is regarded as one of the most beautiful plum tree plantations in China. Plums usually start blossoming from December to the following March.

From Jan 27 to 29, visitors can participate in the "Five Blessing Flower" activities, especially for those wishing to see rare six-petal plums. There will be a county fair where people can guess riddles and visit exhibitions specifically prepared for Spring Festival.

春节将近，超山景区暗香浮动，一朵朵梅花含苞待放。拥有5万株梅树，总共超400种品种梅花的超山是冬季赏梅佳地，更别说超山还配合过年氛围推出了“超山赏梅节”。因梅花花开五瓣，故又称“五福花”。此次赏梅节还准备了新春庙会，等着游客去抢福运、猜福谜、拓福字、抢福包。另外还有财神派彩和其他民俗表演。

Xianghu Lake fishing festival awaits you.

Xiasun village is located on the northern shore of Xianghu Lake in Xiaoshan district. Surrounded by the 8,000-year-old Xiasun Relic Site, the ancient village has witnessed great changes in the region. Winter fishing is a long-lasting tradition in the area. During the festival, products and artistic crafts from various regions of China are reproduced, reconstructed and regenerated on site. Visitors will be given a chance to make their own crafts and to taste Hangzhou food specially made for Spring Festival. Moreover, visitors can enjoy Chinese traditional music and dance performances.

冬季捕鱼，是下孙村传统的渔业生产方式。渔民们通常抓紧每年十二月末至春节前的黄金时间，进行大规模冬季捕鱼作业。长期的捕鱼生活，渔民们依赖水域辽阔、资源丰富的湘湖，形成了极具湘湖特色的冬捕文化。此次湘湖年鱼节不仅有振奋人心的捕鱼体验活动，还能观赏传统文化再现，亲自体验桃花坞木刻年画、活字印刷术、泥塑制作等传统工艺，更有皮影戏、吹糖人、画糖画、草木染、竹编等非遗集市等游客游逛，在现场还能品尝媒鸭、萧山甲鱼、青梅酒等传统萧山名吃。

Three Charming Smiles is a Yue Opera and a classic romance set in the middle period of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644). To finish his final draft of The Nine Beauties, Tang Bohu, the hero, a talented painter is looking for models before he encounters a maid named Qiu Xiang from Grand Master Hua's house, with whom he quickly falls in love. He disguises himself as a servant to get closer to her and the opera is about the hilarious episodes that take place thereafter.
