The Meta team’s crucial contribution was therefore to augment1reinforcement learning2with natural-language processing. 译一：在利用大量数据进行预测缺失单词的训练后，大型语言模型具有突出的能力，能够模仿真实语言模式以及说出人类可能说出的话。

译二：针对大量数据进行缺失单词预测训练后的大型语言模型具有突出的能力，能够模仿真实语言模式，说出人类可能说出的话。

点拨：本句主句为句子首尾部分，主干为灰底部分。句子中间部分trained on … to …是主语的后置定语；to mimic … and (to) say … that …是ability的后置定语，that从句是things的定语从句。

以上译一将主语的后置定语译成加逗号的时间状语，将ability的后置定语译成短句，总体上句式更短。但是，在to mimic … and say …. that …这部分译成短句后，译文第二、三小句衔接有点松散。译二将train on … to …译成前置定语，与主句的主干合译成中等长句，将to mimic …和(to) say … that …译成两个短句，形成联系紧密的几个流水句，更合乎中文行文习惯。
